Inverter

Almost all the residential area use AC current. It is not possible to store AC current for use in the future. So, AC current is needed to convert into DC current and stored it into batteries, capacitors, etc. When there is AC needed than the stored DC current converts into AC to run the AC based applications. The device which converts AC currents into DC currents is known as Inverter.

An Inverter converts DC voltage into AC voltage. The maximum number of times we see that DC voltage is lower than the output voltage AC. On the other hand, output voltage AC is equal to the grid supply voltage. Or it is equal to the 120 Volts, 240 Volts depending on the country. The output of an inverter may be single-phase or three-phase. Generally, inverters are rated by the total power capacity. The ranges of the total power capacity is hundred of a watt to megawatt.

There are some inverters that have the best surge capacity for starting motors. On the other side, other inverters have limited surge capacities. To understand better, the designer needs to mark both the type and size of the inverter is intended to service. The Inverter is distinguished based on power-dependent efficiency. In the time of convert DC to AC voltage, the main task of an inverter is to keep a fixed voltage on the AC side. And convert the input power into output power with higher power efficiency.
